      The annual report 2023 adopts field research and policy analysis methods to carry out a systematic assessment of China's environmental and economic policy practice in 2023. Overall, continuous improvement of the environmental economic policy system has provided an important driving force for the establishment of a beautiful China and the continuous improvement of ecological environment quality, its position and role in the ecological civilization governance system have become more prominent, providing important support for the comprehensive green and lowcarbon development transformation of the macroeconomy and the accelerated realization of the goal of building a beautiful China. In the future, it is necessary to place greater emphasis on the scientific, systematic, economic and institutionalized establishment of environmental economic policies, deepen innovation in environmental economic policies, implement coordinated planning, comprehensive regulation and integrated application, and play a more important role in the modernization of the environmental governance system and governance capacity.
