      本文以2015—2018年分批实施的智能制造试点示范项目作为准自然实验，考察智能制造对企业ESG表现的影响。研究发现，智能制造对企业ESG表现具有显著正向影响。机制分析显示，智能制造通过促进企业绿色技术创新和提高企业运营管理效率双重路径提升ESG表现。异质性分析表明，该效应在环境规制严格地区和高新技术企业中更为突出。本研究揭示了智能制造对企业ESG表现的促进作用，为推动经济高质量发展提供了重要的理论依据和政策启示。

英文摘要:

      This paper takes the smart manufacturing pilot demonstration projects implemented in batches from 2015 to 2018 as a quasi-natural experiment to examine the impact of smart manufacturing on corporate ESG performance. It is found that smart manufacturing has a significant positive impact on corporate ESG performance. Mechanism analysis shows that smart manufacturing enhances ESG performance through the dual path of promoting enterprises' green technology innovation and improving enterprises' operation and management efficiency. Heterogeneity analysis shows that the effect is more prominent in regions with strict environmental regulations and in high-tech enterprises. This study reveals the facilitating effect of smart manufacturing on the ESG performance of enterprises, which provides important theoretical basis and policy insights for promoting high-quality economic development.
